After Relocating from CA to TX, Another Business is Flourishing

We're all familiar with the real-estate mantra, it’s all about location, location, location; and those words couldn't ring more clearly for C&S Propeller – an aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul company – which relocated from California to Texas back in the summer of 2016. 

Interestingly, C&S Propeller had been located in Southern California for almost 50 years; and a big reason for the move was a simple one:  those behind the company yearned for the 'business friendly' environment Texas was known for; and the DFW area offered that, and more.  

Other alluring reasons warranted the move of the company from California to North Texas.  The company was attracted to the close proximity of the Naval Air Station since hiring veterans was a big consideration.To date, the majority of C&S's personnel are former military.  

Additionally, the centralized location of DFW was beneficial since the lion's share of C&S Propeller's customers are located on the West Coast and Florida. Last but not least, the parent company, Precision Aerospace, wanted to give C&S its own identity. 

The Move to DFW Made All the Difference

It was only a few short years ago that C&S Propeller was floundering; the business was not doing well.That all changed when the parent company hired a new President and General Manager, Buddy Tobin, to not only run C&S Propeller, but be an integral part of the company's relocation from Covina, California to the DFW area.  

Business operations in North Texas has proven to be good – very good –  and FAA/EASA-certified C&S Propeller is enjoying expansion in Texas as it continues to specialize in refurbishing propellers for the C-130 Hercules aircraft made by Lockheed Martin Corp.This type of aircraft serves, both, military and civilian operators throughout the world.

From a company that was struggling before it made its move to North Texas, it is quite remarkable to note its current success.  Tobin states:“We've been able to grow the business; and our fiscal year just ended with the last year being the best year we've had in the past 10 years!” Tobin goes on to explain that the company's lucrative growth has placed C&S in the seven-figure range.  

In the company's first year, it overhauled only about five propellers; but, now, the company is overhauling between three and five a month.   Also, a country in South America offers promise for C&S Propellers – a long-term contract may be signed which would generate one-third of C&S's business. Hiring more employees over the course of the next few years is in the works, too; and the company hopes to have 30 skilled employees as part of the payroll.

When companies decide to make the move from California to North Texas, business operations have an opportunity to reach their potential; business costs are reduced; a more business-friendly environment is enjoyed, and a higher quality of life can be realized by employees.  In Texas, it's a win-win situation no matter how you look at it!
